Random Pictures...

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I haven't posted in a long time so I decided to post a few random pictures, so here goes...

In August my Dad graduated from BYU! Way to go Dad! Now he is working towards his Masters degree.

Here is a pic from Labor Day weekend. We went to Bear Lake with Nick's family and this is a hike we went on.

We went up to Idaho for Thanksgiving and this is how much snow we had when we got home.

Our ward Halloween Party. Jake was a dragon, Trev a knight, Nick a king, and I was a Queen.

My birthday. I celebrated my birthday in December. It was a great day.

Jake, Trev, and I went to the Festival of Trees this year. It was amazing! The trees were beautiful.

I hope to post more soon, but here is a couple of pictures.
In June, Trevor turned 3! Happy Birthday Trevor!
For the 4th of July we went to Grandma Cyndi's house. We had a hotdog roast and sleep in her backyard. Trevor did great sleeping in the tent! It was so much fun. (Jacob and I slept inside)
We did some fireworks!

Out of the mouth of Trevor...

On 2.23.10 Trevor had a cold. I was a little nervous because I didn't want Jacob to get it so I told Trevor to cover his mouth, wash his hands, and stay a little farther back from Jacob. It came out of my mouth a lot for a few days. Every time I would tell him to do one of these things he would ask "why," and I would say "because you are a little sick" and then he would ask "why" and I would say "because you have a cold!" Trevor would then wrap his arms around himself and say "brrrrrr". He thought I meant he was cold! Too funny. Also, when we would have these talks I would say Jacob can't get sick, and he would once again ask "why" and I would reply "because he is a little guy" and then Trevor would mimic me and say "little guy, little guy." The funny part of this is Trevor can't always articulate very well so instead of saying "little guy, little guy" it came out "he'll die, he'll die!" I chuckled every time he said it.

Caught in the act...

It was so cute...the othe day (2.17.10) while I was working on the computer, I looked in on Trevor playing in his room and this is what I found...
I caught him reading (okay looking at pictures). It made me so happy!

Setting the Table

Trevor is such a great helper...the other night Nick was making dinner and Trevor decided he wanted to set the table. Here is the outcome...mustard and forks for everyone!
Trevor also figured out how to pull his pants "way high" so that they are high waters. He thinks it is pretty funny.

Bath Time...

I wish this could have been caught on tape...the second time we were giving Jacob a bath I was giving him a pep talk about pooping. Jacob had jaundice and he hadn't poop very much this day so I was telling him to poop and how important it was. Well, Nick was taking his diaper off and had his legs up while he was talking it off. I am in the background chanting poop, poop, poop...and guess what Jacob did...he had a huge projectile poop that got all over Nick's shirt. The poop probably shot out 2 feet. It was so funny. We laughed and laughed. Jacob thanks for listening to mom!

Home Sweet Home...

After 2 days in the hospital we could take Jacob home.
Here I am getting Jacob ready to go into his car seat. I am giving him the you are going to meet your brother today and you guys will be the best of friends and never fight, argue or cry!
In his car seat...not loving it.
Dad found the binky.

Jacob's welcome home sign.

Trevor was so excited to meet Jacob. It was so cute to see Trevor want to look at him and touch him "soft"--that is what Trevor would say every time he touched him, I trained him well. He wanted to hold him right away so we let him, but after he held him for about 2 seconds he was done. Trevor loves Jacob and is very concerned about him. I can't wait to see these two brothers grow up together!
(This picture was taken a couple of days after Jacob got home.)
Funny story about Trevor: every time he saw Jacob's umbilical cord he was so concerned because he thought it was poop. It was pretty funny. He would say "Jacob's poop, Jacob's poop."

Jacob's Story...

Three weeks before Jacob was born I had a doctors appointment. The doctor checked me and said he wouldn't be surprised if I had an 09' baby. Well, I left that appointment nervous and excited: nervous because I didn't have everything ready yet (I am a last minute kind of gal) and excited to finally meet this little guy. Well, three weeks later I was still pregnant. The doctor scheduled me to be induced. I was induced with Trevor and it went great so it didn't bother me to be induced with this baby. I actually prefer it rather then having a baby on the side of the road (my labors go pretty fast once my water breaks). We, (Nick, my mom, and myself) arrived at the hospital at 5 AM Friday morning. I got checked in and was started on the lowest dose of Pitocin at 6 AM. When the nurse was checking me in she asked "did you have a little breakfast before you came?" I said "no", she said "you should have because it could be a really long day and I can't give you anything to eat."...she was shocked, because, it wasn't a long day. Nick's mom Cyndi arrived at about 6:45 AM. My doctor came in at 7 AM and broke my water. By 7:30AM I was ready for the epidural (I was dilated to an eight). The epidural was painful this time for me (with Trevor it wasn't), he had to go through a ligament trying to get the drugs in the right spot and he had to try twice. Also, labor went quickly so I needed another dose of medicine for my epidural because it didn't kick in fast enough. Jacob Henry made his arrival at 8:21 AM. He was a healthy baby boy. He weighed 8 lbs. 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. The first time I held him in my arms it was a very sweet moment. He is such an amazing, special little boy. We stayed at the hospital 2 days. While in the hospital this time around with Jacob, I didn't have all the anxiety and break downs I had with Trevor (the only time I cried in the hospital was over a toilet!) We had some visitors and just enjoyed our new addition. Because of the H1N1 Trevor wasn't allowed to come to the hospital to see/meet Jacob. My mom watched Trevor the first day and Cyndi watched Trevor the second day. Thanks so much for your help.

The final belly picture

I didn't do very many belly pictures with this pregnancy so I decided to take a picture on the last day of me being pregnant.
Here I am...
Trevor and Mom...this is Trevor's last day of being an only child. (I love the smile. This is what Trevor does when you tell him to say cheese or smile. It is pretty funny.)

(It is funny, I am posting this a few months late, obviously, but I really don't remember being pregnant or just having Trevor (okay, I do) but it just feels like Jacob has always been a member of our family.)

Let it Snow (December 2009)

Nick had the chance to take Trevor out in the snow a couple of times in December. Trevor just LOVED it! I stayed inside because I was feeling rather pregnant. If Trevor could have stayed outside all day he would have!
Nick and Trevor all bundled up and ready to go.
Headed outside.
Playing in the snow.
Loving being outside!

The next time they went outside to play in the snow Nick pulled Trevor around in the sled. Trevor loved that as well.

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009:
I had on my to do list for December lots of things to make and do for Christmas. Well, as the month went quickly many of those things dropped off my list. I did get the chance to make the advent calendar you see in the picture. I got the idea off a friend's blog (thanks Kristy). You make it with a mini muffin tin and then on Christmas morning you make muffins. I love how it turned out and can't wait till next year when i can use it for the whole time.

Christmas Eve:
On Christmas Eve we invited Nick's Dad, and his brother Shawn and his son Jackson to come over for dinner. It was a nice evening.
Jackson and Trevor playing the piano.

Trevor and Jackson opened a couple gifts on Christmas Eve. One gift they received Nick had picked out: it was hot wheels monster trucks-- the boys loved them. (All the boys loved them! Nick, Shawn, and Kim probably played with them as much as Trevor and Jackson did.) I had wanted to make the boys a Cars quilt for Christmas but it was one of the things I dropped off my list. So Nick said he would go pick out a toy for them. I am sure glad he did (my quilt would have been boring compared to those trucks) Jackson and Trevor just raced back and forth all night with these trucks, it was really cute.

Trevor with Grandpa Kim Christmas Eve. Notice Trevor has his trucks with him!

Christmas:
I still have the great pleasure of making cinnamon rolls Christmas morning so I woke up bright and early to start making them. Also, I didn't get a chance to watch Little Women Christmas Eve because we went to bed really late so while the dough was rising I watched it (in fast forward). At about 8:30 AM the house was awake and we started opening gifts. It was fun! Trevor loved opening gifts this year much more then last year.

Trevor wearing his apron he got from Grandma Wadsworth (I am on the phone coordinating breakfast with Jeana). My mom made all the grandkids aprons this year. They turned out so cute!
After gifts: Jeana, Rob, and Brooke came over for our annual Christmas breakfast. This year Kim, Heath, and Britiani joined us. It was so fun. We had lots of great food! After the food we went downstairs to play the Wii.
Here we are in our Christmas PJ's. I started this last year (where I make each of us pajamas bottoms that match) and I really wanted to keep it going so I made sure this stayed on the to do list.
After Christmas breakfast we headed down to Provo for dinner at Grandma's house. It was fun to spend the afternoon with Grandma Cyndi and Grandpa Brad. We enjoyed each other company and watched some movies. Trevor loved watching Tarzan!

Merry Christmas!

Santa Claus 2009

Trevor had the chance to meet Santa Claus twice this year.
The first time was we went as a family to a Polar Express Night at the Kauri Sue Hamilton School. It was a lot of fun. There were different activities Trevor could do (he had to do at least 3) and then he got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The activity he loved the best was the music class. The teacher got all the kids to sing jingle bells, while shaking bells, and then she read The Polar Express, which Trevor loved! He was so excited to meet Santa. (You wouldn't think so from the picture, but he was in awe!)
The second time was when we went with his cousin Jackson to the South Towne Mall. Laurel was running a little late, so it was a little crazy trying to entertain Trevor and let people pass me in line, and right when Laurel and Jackson got there Trevor had to go to the bathroom. So I had to leave and ran as fast as I could, being 8 months pregnant, to get Trevor to a bathroom. While Laurel stayed in line and let people pass her. We found a bathroom, and returned with no potty accident. We saw Santa. Trevor loved it again. Jackson was a little scared, but the picture turned out cute (I don't have a scanned copy to post). We have done this every year since the boys were born. It is fun tradition. We then went out to lunch together.

Gingerbread House (December 2009)

Nick and I decorated a gingerbread house with Trevor. All the grandkids did it on December 6th at Grandma Wadsworth's house (my mom) but we couldn't go up to Idaho to do it so my mom sent all the stuff to make one back with Jeana and Rob. It was so fun putting it together with Trevor. He loved putting the candy on the house.
Trevor and I putting candy on...look at our concentration!
Trevor and dad decorating the house.
The finished product! Great job Trevor! (Good job helping mom and dad...maybe next year I will just let Trevor decorate it himself. We will see.)
Can't wait till next year. Thanks mom for sending the stuff.

Also this Christmas season Trevor loved watching the Polar Express. He would watch it over and over again. He loved the Hot Cocoa song. He would sing "Ha cho cho!" It was so cute. He loved drinking it as well, he would get a huge chocolate mustache on his face.
