Y2K9--Zune Style

Setting up the story...
I got a Zune about a year and a half ago and for Christmas this year Nick got me a Zune speaker dock (he returned the Celine Dion tickets and got me this instead. He said I could listen to Celine whenever I wanted).
Today's story...
Well, this morning Nick went to go turn on the speaker and it didn't work. He pulled off the Zune and the screen was frozen with the zune loading screen. We thought that was strange so he went downstairs to Google it to see if there was something we could do and he found out this...
That sometime early this morning on Dec. 31, 2008 first time generation Zune owners with 30 gb crashed. My mom has 3 at her house and all 3 did the same thing. Microsoft has a post up saying they are aware of the problem and are trying to work on a solution. On the web someone says you can take the Zune completely apart and disconnect the battery--I don't really want to try that so I think I will just wait until Microsoft comes up with the solution. There are a few out there that might not be having this problem, but if you have attached it to a computer and had the updates you most likely have a Zune right now that doesn't work.
Crazy--Microsoft has a big glitch on their hands... it happened to a lot of people!
Ending of the story...
Hopefully my Zune will be working in a couple of days (if not it is okay, I just find it funny that I got speakers for it). It has been a good product so I hope they can fix it.

Santa Claus is coming to town...

In great anticipation for Christmas which is less than two days away-last Friday, my sister-in-law and I took our kids (I took Trevor and my niece Brooke) to see Santa. It was a crazy couple of moments. First, I wanted to get it done as soon as possible because it was suppose to snow, and we all know how much I love driving in the snow. So, we decided to go a little earlier: We got to Santa's at about 12:40 PM (When we got to the mall, I had to wake both Brooke and Trevor up because they fell asleep in the car) and there was a sign that said Santa was feeding his reindeer until 1:45 PM. (But he was still there finishing up the line) Well, I didn't want to wait an hour because Brooke and Trevor needed a nap and lunch, and Santa's helper said we should stay in line because if we left and came back at 1:45 PM there would be a long line waiting. So what to do... I decided to stand in line and guess what? There were about 7 extra minutes before Santa was supposed to go to lunch so they let us go. Yeah! One small problem, my sister in law was above Santa (on the second level) waiting to go in the elevator to come down and the elevator wasn't working so she had to carry her son in his stroller down the stairs. Some nice person helped carry the stroller down. And yes, we could have done it a different time, or day--but it worked out! So just a reminder for everyone who wants to go see Santa he feeds his reindeer at 1:00 PM and they stop taking people to finish up the line at 12:30 PM. Merry Christmas everyone!

How to bake a cake...by Trevor

Trevor baking a cake in 5 easy steps.
Step 1: Get the cake mix out.

Step 2: Mix the cake batter

Step 3: Put chocolate chips in the cake batter and bake the cake

Step 4: Take the cakes out of the oven and let cool
Step 5: Frost the cake and enjoy!!

Nick was out of town in October and Trevor and I needed something to do so we baked a cake. It was a lot of fun and Trevor was a great help and the cake was delicious.

High speed internet=huge post...

I am so excited...Nick and I finally have high speed internet and it is great. We have had dial-up for the last 4 1/2 years and now --it is amazing, just amazing. So as a result I am going to have a huge post of some random things over the past couple of months in no particular order. Enjoy! I finally finished my nativity before Christmas was even over. Trevor loves to play with it. A sister in my ward asked a few of us if we wanted to make one of these. I said sure thinking it wouldn't be that hard. It took a little more time and skill then I had originally thought it would, but it is done and I am glad I did it. I loved getting together and working on it.

So yesterday December 18, I finally did it-- I tied my chairs together so Brooke and Trevor would stop climbing up on the table. Does anyone else have a better idea? They think it is a game because all day long I have to go around taking them off the table. I tell them no, don't get up on the table, but they just laugh at me --it is pretty funny unless I am trying to get something else done. (Super Nanny would not be impressed with my follow through skills!) Well, yesterday I decided okay they can sit on the table no big deal (I was in the kitchen making dinner) , I was going to pick my battles what was it hurting. Well, they wouldn't just sit there, they would stand up and shake the table. So I got them down and tied the chairs together. It worked great. Except when dinner time came I had to untie the rope. Problem solved, until they learn how to untie the knot...

Aren't these the cutest pumpkins ever? I live in a townhouse but we have a little strip of dirt that we can plant things in. Well, I really wanted my own pumpkins to carve. So here they are. They started growing too late in the season, and they were still green when I picked them, and were still green at Halloween. But this is what they looked like at Thanksgiving. So we didn't get to carve them, but I loved having them by my front door as a decoration. I will try again next year.

My birthday was on December 8th and I turned the big "27". It was a great day. Here is Jeana and I blowing out the birthday cake. Nick and Rob made this amazing three dimensional tree cake. Every year my mom would make Jeana and I a tree cake so Nick and Rob know they have to and this year they out did themselves...What will they do next year???

My little sister Janessa and my older sister Jenn, came into town the week before Thanksgiving. It was so fun to have them here. We went to Gardner Village to see the Elves with Janessa.

Here is a picture of Nick and his mom on Thanksgiving. We went down to Cyndi's house (Nick's mom) and had Thanksgiving with her in Provo. It was so fun. We played a game of flag football before dinner and I scored 3 touchdowns!!!

In November, Trevor, Nick and I created our own snow storm inside. It was a lot of fun. We took a roll of toilet paper and ripped it to pieces and then threw it. Trevor loved it. Now we don't have to make our own snow there is plenty outside!

In September on the way to my sister's wedding in Nampa we stopped at Nick's Dad's house in Burley and stayed the night. On Saturday we went with him to Twin Falls and Shoshone Falls. Don't go to Shoshone Falls in September it wasn't more than a trickle, still very pretty. We will have to go in the spring next year.
My sister's husband had a birthday in October and Jeana decided to throw him a surprise birthday party. Well, part of that surprise was a life size guitar cake. Have you ever watched Ace of Cakes? That show was our inspiration. The cake was amazing. Jeana had all the ideas I was just her gopher. It took 6 cake mixes to make. After a crazy day, the party was a huge success!
