Trevor's Preschool Graduation

At the end of May Trevor had his preschool graduation!  It was so neat to see how much he has grown this last year!  He loved going to Ms. Jennifer's class.  He loved telling me about everything they did each day!  I can't believe he is headed to kindergarten in the fall!
Trevor right before the program started.  Trevor had a part this year, his part was "my pig is too messy!"

Trevor had a lot of people there to watch: Grandma Cyndi and Grandpa Brad, Jeana, Brooke, Kate, and Halle, Nick,  I and Jacob!

Reading Scriptures...

We try to read scriptures as a family every night.  We have the boys repeat a verse that we tell them.  A couple of weeks ago it was Jacob's turn, and we were in the Book of Jacob this is what he said... (Jacob 1:18) Nick says "For I, Jacob" and Jacob says "For I, Jacob" Nick says "and my brother Joseph" Jacob says " and my brother Trevor!"

We all just started to laugh.  That kid just cracks us up sometimes!

I am big kid now...

Jacob is growing up so fast...over the last few months Jacob has done the following:

1.)  no longer uses a binky (January).  We did the same thing we did with Trevor, we cut them one by one and threw them away and then Jacob and Nick would take them out to the dumpster, and then the trash man takes the broken binkies away.  To this day, Jacob will still tell me when the trash man comes that he is taking the broken binkies away, but it is okay because he is a big boy and doesn't need them.  It is so cute!
2.) Started sleeping in a big boy bed (February).  He transitioned really well to sleeping in a big bed, and he doesn't get up once he is there.

3.) He is somewhat potty trained (started in middle of April and I just now feel he has the hang of it at the end of May).  He wasn't as easy as Trevor was (Trevor was so easy) but Jacob is getting it!  He had his fair share of accidents, and anytime I would think to myself, he has it-he hasn't had an accident in a couple days, he would have an accident for the next two days.  So I stopped thinking that, but for the last two weeks he has been accident free!  So knock on wood, but I think he's got it!!!

4.) And he no longer takes naps (end of April), much to my sadness, but he goes to bed so much easier and early now.  Nick and I also thought taking his naps away would help his sleeping through the night (that is something he hasn't mastered yet) but nope, but that is okay, he will get it!

Jacob is such a big boy!

And for the most part he doesn't take a nap (he will fall asleep sometimes in random places)...this day it was about 5:30 and he fell asleep standing up on the kitchen chair...it was so funny!

Family Photo Shoot...

At the end of April my sister took our family pictures.  I really wanted a spring family photo shoot this year because I wanted tulips in the pictures, and we did get a few.   It was such a fun time, we went to Temple Square and then had dinner at the new City Creek Center Mall.  (Side story: while we were getting our dinner, Jacob's drink spilled two times all over the floor, it was so funny!)   Thanks Jeana for taking our pictures...I love them!

Little boys in white shirts and ties...

I love little boys in white shirts and ties!  Trevor and Jacob each got a white shirt and tie in their Easter basket.  Here is me trying to get a cute shot of them before church.

How can you go wrong when it starts with a hug?!

Doesn't it look like Trevor is about to hit Jacob in the head?!

Jacob is there a car going by?

Jacob is thinking...I don't want to be here mom!!

Anyone want to dance?

Trevor, put your tongue in!

Jacob, where is mom...look at mom...please!

Jacob is saying "don't touch me Trevor!"

And last but not least....
I just love these boys!  They make me so happy!  They look like little missionaries in their white shirts and ties!    Until next year...

Easter in Idaho

We went up to Idaho to celebrate Easter this year!  We had such a great time seeing everyone.  My sister Jenn got a dog named Oreo and the boys loved playing with him each day.

The boys were lucky enough to go to a lot of Easter egg hunts this year.  The first one was on Friday at Jenn's work.  They had so many eggs, and the best candy!  Then Saturday morning we went to one for my mom's ward at the church.  Then Sunday morning the Easter bunny hid some around the house.  And then Sunday night we had Easter dinner at my mom's house with another Easter egg hunt, this time it was for money.  I love this tradition of finding money in the Easter eggs.  We did it when I was younger at my Grandma's house and now my mom (as Grandma) has continued it!

Friday night some of the cousins came over and we dyed Easter eggs.  It was fun seeing how creative everyone was!

It was such a great long weekend!  On the way home Jacob got carsick and we hadn't even made it out of Boise!  Other then that, the ride went great both there and back!

The dentist we will go...

On March 29, I took the boys to the dentist.  Trevor has been going since he was about two, but this was Jacob's first time.  I was worried how Jacob was going to do, but he did great (and so did Trevor)!  They even had a face painter that day so the boys got their hand painted (they didn't want it on their faces.)   Trevor got a black shark and Jacob got a green and blue turtle.

Here is Jacob with all the loot he got from the dentist.
