Disneyland--Where all your dreams come true!

Last weekend, Nick and I had the chance to go to Disneyland. We went to celebrate our 5 year anniversary--which isn't until July, but we didn't want to go in the summer--so we celebrated a little early! We went with some great friends of ours Dan and Liz. It was so much fun. The weather was perfect and the park wasn't too crowded. Nick had never been there and I had been there once when I was about six. I loved it. Thank you Jeana and Cyndi for watching Trevor! It was nice to get away and be a kid again for a few days. Here are nine things that I loved about Disneyland in no particular order.

#1. The lines! I can't get over the lines. You think you are about to get on the ride and no, the line turns the other way. They fit as many people as they can in a very tiny space, I am sure some engineer had to figure out all the different ways to fit people in. It was very impressive. Also, fast passes--I love them!

#2. Splash mountain! It was a great ride one of my favorites. As we were getting on the ride for the first time Liz saw people in ponchos and said "why do they need those, you don't get very wet?!" Well, Liz got wet that time. It was pretty funny! (This is a picture of Brer Bear one of the characters in Splash Mountain)

#3. The car we rented! It was red--I love red cars! It also was only a two door, but it worked out! We drove it to Disneyland and parked it and then three days later drove it back to the airport. We flew into Long Beach, that is a very small airport!

#4. Toy Story! They opened a ride in California Adventure about Toy Story 2. It was so much fun . It was 4D--so you wore 3D glasses and then got to shoot things. It felt like you were playing a video game. It was a neat ride. As you were waiting in line Mr. Potato head was there talking to you. It was fun because he actually interacted with some of the people in line!
#5. The Tower of Terror! As many of you know, I am not much of a thrill seeker! On rides at Lagoon in order for me to go on them, I have to shut my eyes. Well, I decided that I needed to keep them open because how many times would I make it back to Disneyland. So I did--I keep them open on all of them. The Tower of Terror was great. I thought we would go to the top and then just drop down, nope! It was awesome! (The Tower of Terror is in the background.)

#6. It Is A Small World! This is a classic ride that they have at Disneyland. I loved it! I am still singing the song! They changed the ride a little and put in a lot of the Disney characters! Oh, to be a Disney imagineer!

#7. Walking! My legs got pretty tired walking around, but I loved walking so much because then I felt like I could eat whatever I wanted. I also loved trying to walk faster then the people ahead of me, because that meant less people standing in front of you in line. Standing and waiting in lines was a different story. Here is a picture of some kid that we saw, he was tired!

#8. Tea Cups! Nick was kind enough not to spin them too much. This is one of the few rides I remembered (from pictures) going on at Disneyland the first time I went so it was fun to do it again. As we were getting off the ride you feel pretty dizzy and one of the girls getting off fell down she was really dizzy, she was okay, and it was funny!

#9. Fantasmic! There wasn't a parade or fireworks at night this time of year, but they did do a show called "Fantasmic" it was so neat. It was a laser, fireworks, water show that was so impressive! At the end all of the characters come out on a boat and waved, it was great to see them all! I loved this show!

Disneyland was great! They do a wonderful job making sure your experience their is amazing. I loved a lot of the rides, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates, Indiana Jones to name just a few. But I also loved the smaller rides, Peter Pan, Snow White etc...there just isn't anything like Disneyland (okay, maybe Disney World)--it was a great couple of days! Dan and Liz thanks for being such great tour guides and for showing us the ropes, Nick and I would have been lost without you!

Too bad we didn't get a picture of the girl falling out of her teacup! I guess it would have been rude to wip our cameras out then :-)

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like you had a great time. Your dad just said "it looks the same" I'm sure there is a lot more stuff there now. That was very fun!!

It really is the happiest place on earth! :) Kyle and I flew into Long Beach Airport when we went on our cruise it really is TINY! It made me laugh how small it was! Glad you had fun. Makes me want to go again soon!

Fun! I am jealous! Some day, maybe, but James does not enjoy the crowds, so I have some convincing to do.
