Williams' Family : Family Trip 2014: Day 3

Day 3

So today was a Sunday. We looked online last night to see what times sacrament meetings were in Orlando (we were about an hour away) we found a building with meetings that started at 12 pm or 2 pm that was right across the street from the temple (where we also wanted to go). So we weren't in a hurry to get up and going that morning - our goal was to attend church at noon and then walk around the temple, but if we missed noon we would walk around the temple and then go to church. We ate continental breakfast, got showered, made sack lunches and were in the car ready to go about 10:45am. We got to Orlando about 11:50 am but it took us a little while to find the temple/church...I had put the address in the Garmin wrong apparently. It was about 12:30 pm when we got to where we needed to be so we decided to walk around the temple first.

Right when we got there Nick saw these lizards running around in the flower beds...he showed them to the kids. They got a kick out of them.

Then the kids found a sidewalk that was just perfect for running back and forth on.

After running, Ellie needed a diaper change, so Nick took Ellie to the van to change her and the boys and I went and took a couple pictures.

Nick and Ellie came back. The weather was perfect, the temple was beautiful, it was a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

I was really hoping on this trip that I would see an orange tree, random I know, I just had never seen one and Flordia being orange country I was hoping I would.. I was in luck, the temple grounds had a couple! One is behind me in the picture below.

Once we walked around the temple we came back to the front and took a few pictures on the grass lawn in front.

After the lawn pictures it was about 1:30 so we decided to drive across the street and go to church, The church was on the other side of a major street in Orlando which meant we couldn't see the parking lot. While we were getting into the van, Nick said "wouldn't it be funny if it is stake conference today!" I replied "what are the odds it would be stake conference!" Well, pretty good...we drove over to the church and there wasn't a single car in the parking lot! It was pretty funny. So we looked up other churches in the area and all the rest started at 1 pm and were at least a 15 minute drive away....but we found one and made it for the last 2 hours.

After church we checked into our hotel. Our hotel was right across the street from Universal Orlando....we could have walked there (We didn't, but we could have)! With that being said it was about a 15-20 minute drive to Disney World, which worked out just fine for us. We just drove there everyday.

After we got checked in we just hung out in our room and made microwave mac and cheese and soup for dinner!

Here we are eating dinner! The desk worked perfect for a dinner table.
